West Garth View is the second floor of the owners' beautiful arts and crafts house. It looks towards the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty. It is self contained and has its own entrance.
The flat is a few minutes' walk from shops, pubs, restaurants, an independent cinema and the railway station in Malton.
Malton is ideally situated for walking, cycling and horse riding in the North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds. It is also handy for trips to York, the East Coast and local attractions such as Castle Howard, Flamingo Land and Pickering steam railway.
Families are welcome. We provide a cot and a high chair on request and there are children's books, DVDs and toys in cupboards in the flat. There is also secure storage for bicycles, available on request.
Smoking is not allowed in the flat. However, there is an outside area with table and chairs by the entrance to the flat. There is no lift so we regret the flat is not accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility.
The kitchen is a good size with a small table and chairs suitable for breakfast and snacks. It is well equipped with microwave, toaster, washing machine, iron and ironing board.
This room is spacious and comfortable with two sofas, TV and DVD player. The dining table seats 6-8 and is situated by an impressive large window which enjoys splendid views. There are books, DVDs and board games in the cupboards.
The bedrooms accommodate 5 people. There is a double room, twin room and single room.
There is a new bathroom with shower, wash basin and loo. A hairdryer is provided.
Malton is an attractive traditional market town. It has a very good selection of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is an independent cinema and a railway station. In recent years Malton has acquired an excellent reputation for the quality of its food and drink. There is a farmer's market every fourth Saturday and several artisan food shops. Celebrity chef, James Martin's restaurant at the Talbot Hotel is popular for special occasions and less than 5 minutes' walk from West Garth View.
Castle Howard is only 5 miles away. Enjoy visiting the finest historic house and estate in Yorkshire, a magnificent 18th Century residence set in 1,000 acres of gardens and woodlands with an adventure playground, a lake and a variety of cafes and shops.
